We will expand upon this writing at a later date. For now the most important points of our basic philosophy will enlighten you as to where we are coming from, and where we are headed. All these points of philosophy are targeted to the securities markets, not to life outside of investing.
1. It is more important to cap the inevitable setbacks we will experience to a reasonable level, than it is to concern ourselves with the gains that are achieved. If we are following the system, gains will simply occur and they will compound.
2. The best way to achieve #1 is to have, and to follow, a systematic approach to determining the turning points of every existing trend to a high degree of accuracy! In doing this we take advantage of the strongest force in the universe… the compounding of consistent, and additive gains!
3. The best way to employ #2 is to operate the trading account (insofar as it is possible) in a tax deferred plan, ie: annuities, 401k plans, IRA’s, both Roth and standard, etc. etc.
4. Our own emotions are our worst enemy. Once a person finds a systematic approach that has proven itself to produce consistent results, he/she must follow that system without emotion or questioning.
5. If we find it impossible to apply #4 with great fidelity, then, in order to succeed, we must find a person of trust who will pull the trigger for us based on the strict rules of the system that is being followed. This could be a trusted partner, or a 3rd party entity set up to do this kind of work.
6. Human perceptions are, by our nature, subject to fickleness and emotion. Therefore, one should not trust a system which is not 100% objective. An objective system, based in a logical approach to market dynamics, and proven to have produced superior performance in all kinds of markets for a substantially long period of time (20 years plus), can be considered trustworthy.
